Notes: Label source: It is considered to be the strongest fibre in the Sandwich Islands. Rec'd. June 30.1862 Hona or Mona, the product of a species of Elatostemma, the strongest of all fibre yielded by any of our plants. The natives use it extensively for their, fishing nets on account of its strength and durability. The enclosed twine is a specimen of fishing net cord.
